Fundraising and Budget:
One of the primary objectives of the DPM PTA is fundraising to provide financial support to the teachers, staff, facilities, and programs at DPM. Here's how fundraising proceeds are allocated*:
*Based on past years, and subject to change.58% - Teacher Funds
Every DPM teacher (including art, music, PE, and library) receives their own fund that allows them to purchase supplies, equipment, curriculum, and educational tools they otherwise wouldn’t have.
15% - Social Events
The fall festival and spring dance are community events both entirely funded and run by the PTA.
7% - Student Clubs, Assemblies, and School Events
This includes funding for yearbook, student council, Red Ribbon Week, assemblies, and community night.
5% - Teacher and Staff Appreciation
With nearly eighty teachers, staff, specialists, and administrators working tirelessly for DPM's students, the PTA provides monthly teacher appreciation.
5% - Educational Specialists, Counsellors, and Behavior Intervention
5% - Software
Software subscriptions, particularly Accelerate Reader
3% - Administration and Insurance
2% - Facilities
This includes custodial needs, playground equipment, and a clothing fund which enables the school to provide students with replacement clothing when necessary.
